On a lovely Wednesday evening we high-tailed our gear from Bloomfield to Oakland to play for WPTS’ Live Show. We were a little nervous about how we would be received as our research on the show had produced many sessions of atmospheric electronic music where –gasp- no one talked. If you’ve ever seen us live, you know Bengt and I can be chatty kathys given permission, so we weren’t sure what to expect. Fears were alleviated upon arrival, though, as the whole crew for the show was super nice and open to whatever we had in mind.
After a run down of what to say and not to say on public radio (did I mention we have started a band swear jar? That definitely came in handy for this…) and some free pizza, we got to work. We invited the crew to join us in the studio to watch us play and ask us questions—an apparent first for the show!— and ended up having a blast. The set list was roughly as follows:
